I've spent 25 years as a photographer — first in advertising and branding, building images for major brands where getting a single picture right mattered enormously, then a decade as a documentary photographer across more than 80 countries. That's the eye I bring to you: knowing what an image says before a word is read, and how to make it say the true thing.

I started Tinder Photography in 2015, out of a simple frustration with how badly people were representing themselves online. It's not their fault — no one's ever taught them how, and it's nearly impossible to do for yourself. That's the part I love: meeting someone, getting to know them, and finding the image that's actually them.

Our time together is unhurried and easy — closer to a good conversation than a lecture. I'll show you what's working, what isn't, and how to come across as the person you actually are. Over the last decade I've worked with thousands of people, and watched those images lead to better matches, higher-caliber people, and more than a little love.

I take only a small number of clients each year, in New York and San Francisco. Partly that's my schedule — but it's also deliberate. The work is personal, and it stays good precisely because I don't do a lot of it. You don't want every 30-something in the city carrying photos made by the same person.
